At Least Your Jewellery Doesn't Care About the Weather, with Jewellery For Breakfast and Clasp London

This year, the weather has been cruel to us Brits. I know how much we like to harp on about it (whatever the clouds are doing is usually the first conversation we have most days), but really, I think we can totally justify our excessive meteorological discussions  in 2018. The Beast from the East, the Beast from the East 2.0 and the fear of yet more snow over Easter weekend. It's all been a bit much, and so what we wear has been more and more limited as we have been forced to eek out our winter woollens and leather ankle boots for just a little bit longer.

As someone who is - put simply - obsessed with jewellery, I am more than happy to be updating my outfits with accessories. I am, of course, pining after long balmy evenings and the holiday season, but for now, here are some great ways to breathe some new life into those well worn autumn/winter pieces.

Clasp London has a gorgeous collection of pieces to enhance your wardrobe, and for such affordable prices, there's no reason not to be having a little mid-season splurge. The jewellery in Lisa's collections work perfectly for the modern, working women who wants to add a touch of individuality to her outfit, without wearing anything which is fussy or "too much" for every day wear.

Mixing a few layered necklaces can take any outfit from day to night. Combining the Gold Chevron Necklace as the lowest hanging of the three, the Gold Textured Petal Pendant in the middle (the shape fits neatly in the chevron!) and the Gold Feather Duo Pendant on top is the perfect collaboration of nature and simple geometric shapes to add a subtle glimmer to your outfit (you may need to swap the chains over to get the lengths right). If your metals are all the same, I'm a firm believer in more is more, so why not pop on the Brushed Hoop Earrings when you head out for the evening, ramping up your outfit even more. Your oldest, loosest polo neck and ripped jeans will thank you for the added bling, trust me.

I think the Brushed Hoop Earrings make for great summer wear. So light and easy to wear with any outfit. I'd put them with a lightweight printed summer dress - maybe polka dots as the catwalks dictated, my old favourite adidas Stan Smiths, and a small straw bag - you can find these everywhere at the moment, but I think Zara has a couple of great options in store. For festivals or parties, if you've got an extra piercing, pop on the Star Trio Ear Climbers with the Brushed Hoops for a maximised jewellery effect. This look works really well with the messiest of topknots when your summer locks just don't call for the extra wash.

If you're going for something more glam, you know - blow dry kind of glam - I think the Circle & Bar Double Earrings in silver are the ideal piece to set your look on fire. Edgy in their simplicity and style, you really won't need anything else. Let your dress and the earrings do all of the talking. If you want to stick to gold, the Star & Thread Double Earrings have the exact same effect.

I'm picturing a cocktail in hand (one that is orange enough to match the sunset), and a flowing maxi dress, bare foot in the sand. I want my ears adorned in as many delicate little studs and hoops as possible, and layers of fine gold pendants around my neck. Oh, and a tan too please.

Summer cannot come soon enough, and with Clasp London, you'll be glowing all season.
